CybeRim launches affordable SaaS ( Software as a Service) based Intrusion Prevention Security for SMBs

CybeRim UK launches a rentable intrusion protection system for SMBs for £1 a host.
Exposed small and medium sized businesses can finally afford to protect themselves against the growing threat of criminal hackers, opportunists and industrial espionage, as security start up CybeRim has launched a managed service that brings enterprise level security to SMB prices. The new software service will cost as little as £1 a host, and can be layered painlessly onto existing systems.
In a deal with IPS vendor Countersnipe, CyberRim will run the system as a managed service for SMBs. The new software as a service bundle, Countersnipe-SME, promises to complement any existing IT security systems, such as firewalls, and avoids any installation and compatibility issues.
The security solutions provider launched the service in response to the increasing vulnerability of SMBs, who have been unable to afford industrial strength intrusion prevention systems. The exposure means that that they are increasingly being targeted by opportunists, malicious hackers and organized criminals.
CounterSnipe SVP Amar Rathore says CybeRim created the bundled service as a solution to the security dilemma threatening a significant portion of the business community. “Small and medium sized businesses are just as vulnerable as enterprises, but they haven’t been able to afford the security,” explains Rathore. “CybeRim decided the best way to plug the gap was to run the service for them, in affordable monthly payments.”
The threat of hacking is growing for SMBs with the hundreds of attacks reported every week thought to be the tip of the iceberg. With corporate security tightened, many cyber criminals are now concentrating their fire at easier less protected targets, according to independent security analyst Harj Singh.
Under the terms of the deal SMEs will pay the service provider just one pound (£1) per host per month to guarantee them complete protection from intruders. The service is designed to work with any existing security products already in place. By complementing the existing architecture, CyberRim’s Countersnipe service will augment any threat management system with additional intrusion detection, intrusion prevention, vulnerability management and network change detection.
“You don’t need to chuck away your firewalls in favor of ‘all in ones’. You don’t need to hire an in-house expert or a security analyst,” says Rathore. “There’s no wastage at all. This is a service for network security that takes away the expense and the uncertainty, because that’s what the market is crying out for.”
CounterSnipe’s new software as a service bundle, Countersnipe-sme, will be available in the UK exclusively through CybeRim.
